  • Try cooking with your kids and using it as a chance to teach math concepts. Discuss how to double or halve the recipe and work in some simple everyday math.
  • Explore your backyard and have your kids write down what they see
  • Play store with real coins and practice counting money
  • Check out some educational channels on YouTube such as Jolly Phonics and dance videos to get the kids moving
  • Create an account with Epic! on your PC or phone. It’s FREE for 30 days and after that it’s a reasonable monthly fee. You will be able to have access to over 35,000 books, quizzes, learning videos and more.
  • For teenagers, consider having them watch a movie each day that focuses on a different aspect of American History.
  • Take this time to allow your kids to create a vision board regarding goals and dreams that they have for themselves.
  • Make your own slime and turn it into a science lesson on polymers.
  • Work on writing letters and numbers by drawing them in sand, flour, shaving cream, etc. This is a fantastic hands on, sensory activity that kids will love and will go a long way in learning to write.
  • Encourage your kids to read for a minimum of 30 minutes per day. Once complete, ask them questions about what they read.

  • Consider creating a schedule for this time at home. Kids thrive on structure and it will help them as well as help you keep your sanity
