Self Care Ideas

  • Eat Healthy: Although having treats here and there is fine, and we know it’s difficult to stay away from unhealthy snacks, try and keep a balanced diet. When you eat well, you feel well and now more than ever it’s vital to keep your spirits up. Since we are all home now, it’s the perfect time to experiment in the kitchen and come up with new recipes and meal ideas. If you get tired of cooking, several local restaurants still offer delivery or pickup.

  • Stay Active: If you are well and feel up to it, make an effort to stay active. Even though gyms and fitness studios are not open right now, you can still get a great workout at home. You can walk laps in your backyard or take walks around your neighborhood while practicing safe social distancing. Another option is to work out inside your home with YouTube videos; there are numerous free resources.
  • Don’t Isolate: Although we are all staying home and aren’t socializing in person, it’s important to stay connected to those you love. Call/text your friends and family regularly and take advantage of FaceTime, Skype, and apps like Zoom so you can see and talk to those you are missing.
  • Protect Your Mental Health: If watching and reading the news causes you to feel upset or anxious, consider limiting the amount of news you take in.
