Top Local Farms
- Wagner Farm: 1510 Wagner Road Glenview, IL 60025 (847) 657-1506. What makes this farm unique is the fact that it’s one of the oldest dairy farms in Cook County. They have draft horses, pigs, chickens, cows and more. Restrooms and buildings are currently closed, but the farm is currently open to walk around.
- Big Run Wolf Ranch: 14857 North Farrell Road Lockport, IL 60441. (815) 588-0044. They are all about teaching people about North American Wildlife, including the chance to be up close with wolves. They currently have three options for visits: Onsite Education Wildlife Show which is $100 for up to 10 people. The show is 1.5 hours and the visit is concluded with 30 minutes to view animals. Private Tour: This is a 45-60 minute guided tour with the fee being a donation of any size. If you enjoy camping, consider the last option. The last option is camping for up to 10 people. This is basic tent camping and the cost is $15 per person, per night. Finally, to make reservations for any of the three options, call the ranch.

This farm is home to prized Lipizzan horses. Additionally, you are able to schedule a tour to see the adorable baby foals or watch a training session for the horses.
- Primrose Farm: 5N726 Crane Road St. Charles, IL 60175. (630) 513-4370. This beautiful farm is perfect for kids and parents alike to enjoy. You can walk around the farm to enjoy the animals or you can register to feed the chickens or goats. This activity is perfect if your kids would rather be more hands on with the animals. Lastly, the main barn is open to the public, however the other buildings on the farm are currently closed.
