- Dupage River Trail: If you are looking for variety, this is the trail for you! There are currently three parts to this paved trail which span a total of 8.23 miles. The southern part of the trail is hilly and is 4.1 miles, going through Hammel Woods in Joliet and Shorewood. Another portion is a paved trail measuring almost 1 mile that goes through a historic farmstead in Naperville. Lastly, another part of the trail is a paved loop that goes almost 4 miles through wetland near Whalon Lake in Naperville. As you can see, this large trail offers plenty of scenery to enjoy along the way!
- Hickory Creek Bikeway: If you love to hike and are looking for a good workout, give this place a visit! This New Lenox trail is a 6.65 mile paved trail that weaves its’ way around hilly areas. In addition, it gives stunning views of prairie, wetlands and savanna.
- Lake Renwick Preserve-Turtle Lake Access: First, if you enjoy bird watching, you have to hike this trail! This is a 3.35 mile paved path in Plainfield where you are likely to see a variety of birds including the great blue heron. Finally, you will be able to enjoy beautiful scenery of the marsh and lake areas.
- Messenger Woods Nature Preserve: Firstly, this Homer Glen area is huge with 441 acres! There are 1.87 miles of natural trail and it is known for the abundance of wildflowers that you can enjoy from spring to early summer.
