Plainfield is at the crossroads of the historic Lincoln Highway and Route 66 35 miles southwest of Chicago. The historic Downtown is the heart of the community. Earch year downtown is home to many special events which includes Plainfield Fest, classic car nights, movies, and concerts. There are many historic landmarks, parks, and the DuPage River which hosts a number of outdoor recreational activities.
Settlers' Park is a 20+ acre park located in the Historic Downtown District south of Village Hall. There are many features of the park to enjoy such as: a lake, a picnic shelter, playground, walking trails, a history walk, and a Amphitheater.
