Home Inspection – Peace of Mind

Home Inspections when buying a home.

Everyone deals with the question of getting a home inspection done or not. In the realm of buying a home, it is very inexpensive to get a home inspection. I would recomend a home inspection, I believe you should know what you are getting into before buying a home.

No Surprises

Buying a home is a HUGE investment. No one likes to get stuck with a “lemon”. Getting a home inspection will give peace of mind to know what to expect in the present and in the future. A good home inspection will outline all the mechanics of the home letting you know the approximate age and what shape it is in.

Knowing how old things in the home are allows you to make a plan on when things will be replaced. Knowing that you can put off some things but others will need to be done more quickly alow you to stagger the expences.

Bargaining Power

A home inspection will let you know things that the seller probably wasn’t even aware of. Maybe the roof is on it’s last leg, or maybe the fireplace is not working correctly so it is costing more to run. If some major repair, like the roof or maybe even the septic tank are showing issues, this is something that you can renegotiate so that you will not end up with a major repair soon after moving in.

Save Money Down the Road

After just putting a huge amount down as a down payment on a house, the last thing you want to do is have to pay out a huge amount for an expensive surprise. Knowing is power. Some things can be dealt with before they are a major problem. This will potencially save you money down the road!

Safety

Home inspections will also let you know about things that can be life-threatening for your family. Issues such as lead paint, smoke detectors, electricity issues, radon, mold, and carbon minoxide problems. The cost of a home inspection is definately worth your family’s health and your peace of mind!
