- Ask for help: Ask a friend, family member or trusted neighbor to keep an eye on your home while you are away. Have them get the mail and any newspapers or packages that may be delivered.
- Use lights: Put your outdoor and indoor lights on timers. It’s fairly easy to even use your smart phone to control the lighting while you’re not home.
- Lock it up: Be sure that all of your windows and doors are locked. You should also consider unplugging your garage door opener and locking the door while you are gone.
