Upcoming Weekend Events on Friday, December 7th
- Friday Movie Matinee: The Plainfield Public Library at 15025 S. Illinois Street in downtown Plainfield is hosting a screening of “The Man Who Invented Christmas” today from 1-3 pm. This event is open to the public and you are invited to bring your own snacks to enjoy during the movie. For more information or to register for this event, call (815) 327-2515.
- Casino Night hosted by the Plainfield Riverfront Foundation: 7 pm until 11 pm at Warehouse 109 located at 14903 S Center Street in Plainfield. This event is for those age 21 and over; tickets are $75 each and participants will enjoy an appetizer buffet, late night snack, whiskey tasting bar, or complimentary cocktail, and $75 in gaming chips.
Saturday, December 8th Events
- Santa @ Rasmussen College: This event is FREE and open to the public! Head over to Rasmussen College-Romeoville Campus to see Santa! 10 am until 11 am is open to Rasmussen students and alumni, and 11 am until 1:30 pm is open to community members. Participants will be able to take photos with Santa, enjoy children’s activities and games, and light refreshments. You will need to bring your own camera for the Santa photos.
- Walker’s Grove PTO Holiday Market: 10 am until 2 pm at Walker’s Grove Elementary School located at 24810 W. 135th Street in Plainfield. Stop by and get some of your shopping done! Over 30 crafters and vendors will be selling everything from farmhouse signs, holiday decor, jewelry, cookies, breads, and much more!
Sunday, December 9th Events
- Hedd Mutt Foundation Christmas Movie Trivia Shindig: 12-4 pm at Gruben’s Uptown Tap located at 24035 Lockport Street in Plainfield. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Your ticket includes trivia, 10 raffle tickets, sweater contest, food/soda, and festive fun. This event is not only fun, it supports a great dog rescue in Plainfield.
Monday, December 10th Event
- Winter Warm Up Clothing Drive December 10th-14th: From December 10th-14th, gloves, hats, scarves, coats, and socks can be dropped off at Heritage Woods of Plainfield in the lobby located at 14731 South Van Dyke Road in Plainfield. This clothing drive will benefit Morningstar Missions. A hot cocoa bar will be available for participants to enjoy.
