Rachel’s Challenge

This amazing movement was started after the Scott family lost their daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, in the Columbine High School shooting on April 20,1999. Rachel was known among her peers as someone that was incredibly kind and whose simple acts of kindness actually changed the lives of those around her.  After Rachel’s parents heard story after story of how their daughter positively impacted those around her, they were inspired to create the non-profit organization known as Rachel’s Challenge. This special organization exists to create programs that foster a positive climate in K-12 schools. Rachel’s Challenge offers programs for elementary school, middle school, high school, professional development, college programs and corporate programs. It truly is an amazing organization that really strives to promote kindness and compassion.

If you are in the Plainfield area, you and/or your kids can have the chance to experience programs by Rachel’s Challenge, which are geared for 6th grade and up. These special programs are sponsored by State Rep. Mark Batinick, Plainfield Township, Foundation For Excellence, Plainfield District 202,  and St. Mary Immaculate School.
