Selling Your Home In The Winter

1. Buyers are usually motivated: Most buyers that are out house shopping in the winter are doing so because they really need to move; due to a job relocation, family situation, etc.

2. Things move along quickly: Since Real Estate usually slows down during the winter months, you can expect things to move along faster with mortgage companies, home inspectors, and appraisers. It should be easier to schedule appointments and you will get results more quickly than during the spring and summer.

3. You can take advantage of the smaller inventory: With less homes for sale, it’s time to really promote your home and what makes it special. Is your home the only home with a pool within walking distance to the elementary school in your district? Does your home feature an amazing finished basement? Be sure to really showcase what your home has to offer.

4. You can still use the warmer months to sell your home: Although the trees and flowers aren’t blooming and the weather isn’t warm  you can still show buyers what your home is like during the warmer months. Place framed pictures of your home, the yard, and your deck or patio during spring and summer so that buyers get a chance to see what your home has to offer year round.
