Curb Appeal: Quick Fixes For A Quick Sale

Photo of the front of a beautiful large home with great curb appeal. Curb appeal is the first impression that a potential buyer has of a home. Here are some ideas for quick curb appeal fixes in order to get your home ready to sell!

  • Clean: Use a power washer to clean the exterior of the home as well as the walkways and driveway. It’s amazing what a difference using a power washer can make!
  • Paint: Giving your front door a fresh coat of paint can make a huge difference. Choose from a traditional color such as black or get playful with turquoise or yellow. Just be sure that the color complements the exterior color of the home. The last thing you want is a front door that clashes with the rest of the home or a color that is too bold. Painting the garage door is also a good idea if it needs it. A worn looking garage door really detracts from the rest of the exterior.
  • Lighting fixtures and hardware: Change out the front door hardware and the outdoor lighting fixtures to transform the exterior by giving it a whole new look. Don’t forget your address numbers too! You may be surprised at what a difference it makes to take down the old numbers and put up new modern ones.
  • Illumination: Many showings will likely take place during the day, but you want your home to look great at night as well. Light up pathways and the front porch; solar lights are a good choice.
  • Plants: Potted plants on the front porch instantly boosts the curb appeal. Mums or even small evergreens are excellent choices for the season.
