4 Tips For Selling In The Spring

  1. Know your plan: One mistake that sellers often make is not knowing what their plan is once their home sells. Are you going to purchase another home? Can you stay with family or friends while you figure out your next move?  Do you want to rent? Speaking with your lender regarding financing options before you list your home is a good idea.
  2. Have your home inspected before it is listed: Many buyers will make an offer contingent on an acceptable home inspection. Ensure the home inspection goes well by having a professional look over your home before it hits the market.
  3. Understand your local market: A Realtor should be able to tell you what the past, current, and projected housing market is in your area. Having a Realtor’s expertise is critical in having your home listed correctly.
  4. Clean and organize: Giving your home a good cleaning is extremely important. Your home should also be de-cluttered and organized. Wash the windows, blinds, baseboards, appliances, etc. One good way to begin organizing and getting rid of clutter is to start packing; that may seem silly since you haven’t sold the house yet but you will have to pack eventually anyways. Packing helps to determine what to keep and what to get rid of and it also makes organizing rooms and closets much easier.
