What documents are needed when applying for a mortgage?
  • Tax returns from the previous two years
  • Last two pay stubs from employer
  • Financial statements from last two months
  • Photo ID
  • Signed sale contract-This is not needed for pre-approval but is necessary if you have submitted an accepted offer on a home.
  • Proof of homeowners insurance
  • Written proof of your position and salary
  • Canceled rent or utility checks
  • Gift letters-This is required if you are receiving money from a friend or relative to help cover closing costs or the down payment.
  • 1099 forms-If you are self employed
