What documents are needed when applying for a mortgage?
- Tax returns from the previous two years
- Last two pay stubs from employer
- Financial statements from last two months
- Photo ID
- Signed sale contract-This is not needed for pre-approval but is necessary if you have submitted an accepted offer on a home.
- Proof of homeowners insurance
- Written proof of your position and salary
- Canceled rent or utility checks
- Gift letters-This is required if you are receiving money from a friend or relative to help cover closing costs or the down payment.
- 1099 forms-If you are self employed
